Where can I buy it?

The easiest way is to buy your PDO olive oil or PDO olives directly from a producer or an olive mill within the appellation. In fact, a large proportion of sales are made through direct sales. It’s a great opportunity to visit olive groves and an olive press, and to discover the rich heritage associated with the olive tree!

Are you a long way from an PDO? Don’t panic! There are several options.

  • Online: many estates and mills have websites where they sell their products, with olive oil and olives at the top of the list! You place your order, and they take care of the delivery… Quick and easy.
  • Delicatessens: many delicatessens across France stock PDO olive oils or olives – don’t hesitate to ask them!
  • Trade shows and fairs: near you, there may be trade shows, fairs or events hosting olive mills or estates that will be delighted to introduce you to their products. In Paris, consider the International Agricultural Show or the Gourmet Show!

  • Supermarkets: some supermarkets have a well-stocked olive oil or olives section, with a wide range of products, including some European or French ones (PDO). It’s easy to spot them: just look for the ‘Protected Designation of Origin’ label!
